A D-sub cable is a multi-conductor cable with D-shaped connector shells. D-sub cables are commonly used in computing and telecommunications equipment. Some examples are the DB-9 version (used for the RS-232 serial port interface), the DB-25 version (used for the parallel port in PCs) and the DE-15 version (used for VGA monitors).
